I'll tell you the story, but I bet you won't believe me.

I don't have any memories of being human. I've done a little research. I was born around 1901 in Biloxi, Mississippi, and I was kept in an asylum, I assume because of my visions. There was a vampire who worked in the asylum, and I was his favorite. A tracker – and, unfortunately, the primary source of this information until I confirmed some familial facts courtesy of microfiche – named James hunted me. He has a thing, you see, for vampires who grow attached to humans; he likes to toy with things that aren’t his to play with, which is why we’ve killed him. The vampire at the asylum changed me in order to keep me safe, but James killed him. I have no memory of this man. I did confirm the story though. I found my tombstone – though, my date of death was the same as the date I was admitted to the asylum.

I was left on my own. I had visions to carry me through – all the way to Jasper. I had this vision of him finding me before he even knew he was looking for me. I told him I had been waiting a long time for him, and he seemed a little bewildered by that. He’s used to the visions by now. I offered him my hand, and he took it as it brought him hope. Jasper will do anything to keep me safe, and so, I have to sometimes be sneaky to keep him from getting hurt. We fell in love, got married, and traveled for awhile, until just after 1950 when my visions lead us to Carlisle. We’ve been part of his coven ever since.

Presently, we reside in Forks, Washington. It’s constantly gloomy with a forecast of clouds always overhead. It’s easy to blend in here. I’ve just graduated from Forks High School – though let’s not get into just how many times I’ve graduated in the course of my life. Seriously? I'm eternally 19. I’m in process of planning my adopted baby brother’s wedding. I’m optimistic this will go better than the time I threw Bella a birthday party. Bella, you see, is a human, though she’s going to become one of us soon. Edward isn’t precisely pleased, but perhaps he’ll warm up to the idea – if anything, he’s got to at least be agreeable, otherwise we’ll have the Volturi to deal with, again.

You see? I know you don’t believe me. I have visions of these things, you know.
